As I contemplated the editorial for November many thoughts came to me and I realized that the first thought most people think of when the month of November rolls around is Thanksgiving Day. If you are going to be shopping for Christmas than you will probably be thinking of “Black Friday” whether or not you are planning on shopping or working that day.
It occurred to me that the most ignored day of November is Veterans Day. At least it seems that way to me. When I was young it was a “Big Deal” with parades everywhere and that is still happening in some towns but not many. I didn’t see any listed locally. Of course, I could have missed it but I did check.
I would like to thank all of our Veterans for their service to our country and to those of you who have lost a loved one in their line of duty. I am sorry for your loss.
I hope that all of you who read this will take the time to personally thank all the veterans that you know, whether they are family, friends, or just someone you meet.
